Meet Dr. Stefan Getzik, DC
Getzik Family Chiropractic, a chiropractic and non-surgical spine clinic in Washington, Pennsylvania, is led by Dr. Stefan M. Getzik, DC. He is a Palmer College of Chiropractic graduate, the team chiropractor for the Wheeling Miners professional arena football team, and has practiced at one Washington, PA location since 2014. Your Health. Your Life. Our Priority.
Why disc injuries and nerve pain
Dr. Getzik chose to go deep on non-surgical spinal decompression rather than staying a general chiropractor. Disc injuries and nerve pain are the problems that bring people in after they have already tried their family doctor, medication, physical therapy or an injection. Many of those patients fear surgery is next. He built the practice around the people who have run out of other options, and decompression is the tool that fits that work.
Working with professional athletes
Dr. Getzik is now in his fourth season as team chiropractor for the Wheeling Miners, a professional arena football team. He was previously team chiropractor in minor league professional baseball and the ECHL, the premier professional hockey league. Read about his sports chiropractic work.
Treating athletes who depend on their spine for a living keeps the standard for examination and treatment high. Every decision has to hold up under real load, not just in the treatment room. That same standard comes back into the clinic for every patient, whether they play a sport or have never played one.
Where he trained
Dr. Getzik trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Before chiropractic he worked in sports management, which is where his connection to professional and minor league teams began. That background shaped how he approaches care for athletes and for anyone who wants to stay active.
Outside the clinic
Dr. Getzik is a father of three and a lifelong athlete. He still trains and stays active, which is part of why he understands what patients want to get back to. He lives what he asks of his patients.
